Laredo Pro

profonts Laredo is another new handwriting font family designed at the profonts studio. It is an upright, peppy and dynamic design. Its liveliness and veracity results from its handwriting character which is further strengthened by the varying stroke width and several very characteristic forms like in ‘d’, ‘O’, and ‘Q’.
profonts Laredo should only be used in large size, but here it can be taken for all any kind of typographic job where a strong and dynamic font is needed.
Profonts Laredo Pro includes a number of additional ligatures and stylistic alternates to be accessed and used per OpenType feature in OTF Pro savvy applications.

Legende

Legende was originally designed by Friedrich Hermann Ernst Schneidler for the Bauersche Gießerei (foundry).

 

In reminiscence to the good old times, Ralph M. Unger redrew and digitized this font exclusively for profonts in 2003. His work is based on artwork taken from old font catalogues.

Leipziger Antiqua

 

 

The original typeface was designed by Albert Kapr between 1971 and 1973 for Typoart in Dresden. Kapr was the font designer and teacher as well as book author on type design of former East Germany. He also was an expert on this kind of type design, and thus, it is no surprise that he created Leipziger Antiqua, a design combining features of both Latin and broken scripts. The result is a stunning and unique gem from earlier times although it does not come along too distinguished or artsy.

The digital version of Leipziger Antiqua was developed by Ralph M. Unger exclusively for profonts in 2005. During the work, Unger fell so deeply in love with this typeface that he couldn't help but add an expert font with small caps etc.

Linda Pro

Linda – a typeface not only for girls! Linda, a graphic design trainee, started this font as an experiment. It should become a professional typographic project. »Linda« is like Linda: youthful, feminine, and easygoing. Dear Linda,we are quite happy now you are finished. We enjoyed an exciting period of time with you, and we learned a lot of new things through you. With every new step, we became more convinced of you. Your aesthetics, your easiness, and your wonderful »Teenie«-charakter are so beautiful and charming. Copy text or headlines: your flow is absolutely fantastic and versatility is your strength. We really look forward to seeing more of you, maybe on posters or book titles, for example. Just carry on.

Manuel Pro

Manuel, a simple, almost mathematically constructed typeface, includes stylistic alternates for a number of upper case characters. This comes in very helpful when designing logo letterings. Manuel(a) is a very charming, self-confident und exciting typeface design. The idea was to try to apply a given design criteria (also see Volker Schnebel’s Marita and Martin fonts) to every single character. In other words, start with a character and develop all of the others from it. This is quite easy for some characters but extremely difficult for others. This process generates creativity and the characters move away from the initial constructed sketch. Together in a typeface, the individual characters are now all of a piece and character.

The volume contains also the font „Monument“.

Marita Pro

Marita combines sternness with swing and, from this, develops its own, unique elegance. This makes Marita quite versatile, also and especially for headline settings. Apart from numerous ligatures, the font also includes old style figures. Marita is based on brush writing with drop-shaped serifs. The idea was to try to apply a given design criteria (also see Volker Schnebel’s Manuel and Martin fonts) to every single character. In other words, start with a character and develop all of the others from it. This is quite easy for some characters but extremely difficult for others. This process generates creativity and the characters move away from the initial constructed sketch. Together in a typeface, the individual characters are now all of a piece and character.

Martin

Martin, a condensed semi-serif with rounded edges and friendly serifs, shows its charme best in short, pointed sentences, in headlines set in about 20 to 36 p. The playing with serifs in a condensed, very characteristic type design is attractive and the technical skill is convincing. More styles are planned. The idea was to try to apply a given design criteria (also see Volker Schnebel’s Marita and Manuel fonts) to every single character. In other words, start with a character and develop all of the others from it. This is quite easy for some characters but extremely difficult for others. Maxim

Maxim was originally designed by Peter Schneidler in 1956 for the Bauer foundry.
Ralph M. Unger redrew and digitized this font exclusively for profonts in 2003. His work is based on artwork taken from old font catalogues.

Montauk Pro

 

 

Montauk Pro is named after a small village in Suffolk County, New York on the South Shore of Long Island. It is the easternmost area in Long Island, and thus the easternmost area in New York State. It is home to Montauk Point State Park, site of the Montauk Point Lighthouse. It is named after the Montauk Indians. Montauk Pro is a casual, jaunty and quite beautiful handwriting script. It comes with six styles as light, light italic, regular, regular italic, bold and bold italic, each style with about 1.000 characters covering the complete Latin glyph set for West and East including Baltic and Turkish, including a large selection of ligatures, character combinations and alternates to make this beautiful script design a perfect font for OTF-savvy applications like e.g. InDesign or Quark Xpress 7.
